Codes of Practice

Spray Painting and Powder Coating

This model Code of Practice has been developed to provide practical guidance for persons conducting a business or undertaking on how to manage health and safety risks associated with spray painting and powder coating under the WHS Act and Regulations. This Code applies to all workplaces where spray painting and powder coating are carried out and to all persons involved in these activities.

To have legal effect in a jurisdiction, the model Code of Practice must be approved as a code of practice in that jurisdiction. To determine if this model Code of Practice has been approved as a code of practice in a particular jurisdiction, check with the relevant regulator.

This Code has been revised and republished in March 2015. An amendments table advising the changes that have been made to this Code is included in the March 2015 version.

Previous versions of this Code are located on the Safe Work Australia historical versions page.

The Word version of this Code is accessible. The PDF version will be replaced with an accessible version as soon as is possible.
