Injury Management

Management of injured workers requires cooperation from a number of parties including the employer, injured worker, employees, doctor, insurer and other health professionals. Work Health Options manages your workers’ injuries both effectively and efficiently as we believe that claims management and return to work is vital, but only part of the injury management process.

Injury Management

Injury management involves early intervention in medical treatment, return to work, claims handling, rehabilitation and human resource management practices in the workplace.

Work Health Options (WHO) monitors management strategies for claims, review estimates and costs, providing a forum for discussion among all stakeholders. Our aim is to ensure clients implement and review effective management strategies, using their preferred medical network, rehabilitation providers and lawyers or WHO's recommended partners.

WHO has implemented a unique national model/network, utilised by clients, which we believe to be essential to a successful injury management strategy. WHO also works with clients that have already established productive policies, procedures and effectively manage their responsibilities. Hence, WHO puts forward recommendations to help continuously improve their current operations, or alternatively the client may implement our model.

It is imperative that an injury is managed correctly, and is just as important that the insurer has developed an injury management programme. The programme should be aimed at assisting our clients and injured workers in returning to work at the earliest possible opportunity. WHO assists clients by maintaining that the insurer achieves the above initiatives utilising a number of various strategies.

Upon receipt of the injury details, WHO’s aim is to confirm that the injury management process immediately commences and that the insurer is committed and supportive.
